Situated in the lovely old market town of Whitchurch in north Shropshire, Healing Thyme is a centre of excellence for integrated health practice. It provides choice in holistic healthcare through qualified practitioners and a range of health related supplements and products. The staff and practitioners of Healing Thyme are central to achieving that excellence in both facilities and service and will do their utmost to help you.
The shop is stocked with a range of health foods, and keeps a running list of your suggestions for lines to stock. Most of the goods are organic; many are suitable for special diets such as vegan and gluten or wheat free. We also stock a range of chemical-free toiletries, including handmade soaps, shampoos and toothpaste. Walk into the bright and airy shop and be transported back to an old Apothecary shop with an extensive range of herbal preparations lining the shelves in large brown glass bottles and jars.
The large room at the back of the building has under floor heating and has played host to a lively demonstration from the Nia Dance team, who gave it the ‘thumbs up’. The room is available for hire (meetings and classes) at a modest charge; it includes a galley kitchen area for refreshments and demonstrations. A variety of classes are planned, so put your name on the list at Healing Thyme if you are interested.
The building now caters for those with assisted mobility including access for wheelchairs. There are Blue Badge parking spaces just outside the front door. From the shop floor it is easy to move to the mezzanine floor via the step-lift, which will accommodate a wheelchair or small motorised scooter. Here you will find an accessible consultation/treatment room and easy access toilet facilities. The stairs enable access to four further consulting/treatment rooms, all of which are furnished appropriately.
Healing Thyme is committed to environmental sustainability as part of daily business to ensure our collective future. Restoring this lovely old building included several energy efficiency measures which will help Healing Thyme to play their part in sustaining the environment. Plans include re-cycling as much as possible and encouraging clients to return their empty medicine bottles. We are minimising our use of plastics and encourage everyone to use ‘permanent’ bags or a ready supply of cardboard boxes.
